Sliding Door Track Systems

Sliding door track systems tend to be used for round the corner doors for garages, warehouse partitions and barns. The sliding tracks work to manoeuvre heavy panels to one side, and the original round the corner track door system were made using timber. Today you can get steel and Upvc round the corner doors, and over time they’ve remained popular, and that’s because they do not require a great deal of maintenance, while the operation is simple, and quite often silent. A good track profile will reduce the build up of dirt and dust, while any bearings do not need to be oiled and they’re remarkably easy to install. The only problem is they’re not the most space saving, and they’re more suitable for large garages and barns.

Plain White and PVC

PVC is an affordable material that’s used for garage doors and sometimes it can be better to stick with the simplest solution. Plain white PVC garages are easy to spot, and while they may require a spot of cleaning from time to time, they can compliment most properties, whether they’re traditional or modern. These doors can have different designs incorporated so they don’t have to be completely straight forward, but it’s definitely a safe option, and if you ever fancied a change of colour in the future then that’s not an issue. A plain white roller garage door will be secure, low maintenance and impact resistant, if it’s bought from a leading manufacturer that is, yet it doesn’t take away or add to the style of your property, and for...

Remote Control Operation – The Norm for Roller Doors

The majority of roller garage doors are manufactured with electronic operation, meaning you can open the garage door whilst you’re seated in your vehicle. It’s a safe and secure way to enter your home and it should be a necessity if you live in a high-crime area. Remote control operation is now fitted with sectional doors and round the corner doors among others, and it’s fair to say that it’s the norm for contemporary garage doors. That said, the number of up and over doors are not decreasing. If you have a large driveway then an up and over door may be ideal as you don’t need to park extremely close to garage, but these do not tend to be fitted with electronic operation. The type of door you decide...

All About Tudor Style Garage Doors

Modern home designing with a touch of “not-so-modern” yet sophisticated style is appreciated not only across the UK but also in different parts of the world. Among the most beautiful styles in home designing that is gaining fame fast is the use of Tudor style garage doors. Tudor style is a design which became very popular in the 1920s and the 1930s. However, its popularity faded due to Colonial revival and other factors. After a few decades, Tudor style invaded the market once again and became fashionable. In the present time, it is one of the most common garage door styles used in several regions of the UK.

Garage door types continued

We have already discussed 3 types in our previous post so now we’ll move on to sectional, roller and round the corner. The doors are split horizontally into panels and operate in vertical tracks that curve into horizontal ones to follow the roof of the garage. These types of doors can be easily converted to remote control. Roller Shutter Door These are similar to the sectional, but are slats instead of panels. They are constructed from either steel or aluminium; some manufacturers construct a roller shutter from a continuous roll of galvanised steel. They do tend to have a larger roll at the top, so be weary of this. They...
