Using Garage Door Support Brackets
Sometimes a standard garage door is not fitted with strong enough brackets to keep it from buckling under certain conditions. This can be especially true for garage doors that contend with a lot of heavy wind and rain, which can test even high quality factory installed brackets holding the door in place.
Fortunately almost all garage doors can be fitted with garage door support brackets. These are replacement parts that are fitted to an existing door, giving it greater strength and durability. Brackets like these are intended to completely replace the old ones, and can be fitted relatively easily using just standard household tools.
Typically, door support brackets are made from galvanized steel which allows for greater durability and rust resistance. Replacement brackets are also adjustable, to accommodate most garage door openers whilst maintaining a solid connection point for the garage door opener.
